About this release
Disintegration gives The Cure’s atmospheric songwriting room to unfold through layered keyboards, guitar and bass. Recorded at Hookend in Oxfordshire and produced by Robert Smith and David M. Allen, the 1989 album opens with Plainsong and the extended sweep of Pictures Of You. Lovesong and Lullaby bring more concise melodies into a sequence that also includes Fascination Street, Prayers For Rain and The Same Deep Water As You. The closing stretch moves through the title track, Homesick and Untitled. This double-vinyl edition includes Last Dance and Homesick within the album sequence, alongside the songs on the original single LP.
