About this release
In A Golden Haze is Daniel Wang’s 1996 release under The Morning Kids name, combining sampled material with his own instrumental playing. Issued on Wang’s Balihu label, the four-track EP draws on disco, funk and jazz while keeping its rhythms rooted in house music. The title track and Rooftop Boogie share the opening side, with Baby Powder Dementia and Free Lovin’ (Housedream) on the reverse. This remastered repress presents the complete original programme, reflecting Wang’s self-produced approach and his interest in the sound and communal culture of earlier dance records.
