About this release
Danny Krivit revisits two records associated with the Paradise Garage on this Mr. K 7-inch. TW Funkmasters’ ‘Love Money’, originally conceived by Tony Williams with inspiration from Dennis Brown’s ‘Money in My Pocket’, appears in an edit of its influential dub version. Krivit tightens the arrangement for the smaller format while retaining its spacious groove. The reverse turns to Janice McClain’s ‘Smack Dab in the Middle’, using Larry Levan’s mix as the basis for another edit. A filtered break adds a different angle to the Philadelphia disco recording, bringing two contrasting Garage favourites together.
