About this release
Shine is Tobias Jesso Jr.'s second album, following his 2015 debut Goon. The Canadian songwriter returns to a setting centred on piano and voice, keeping the arrangements close to the songs and their melodies. Waiting Around opens the record, with Black Magic and Green Eyes leading towards the second side's Everything May Soon Be Gone. The sequence closes with I Love You and Lullaby, completing an intimate set from an artist whose work moves between singer-songwriter pop, soft rock and soul.
