About this release
Defected’s second Frankie Knuckles House Masters vinyl volume brings eight productions and remixes together across two records. The Whistle Song opens in its Sound Factory twelve-inch mix, followed by Alison Limerick’s Where Love Lives. Workout and Inner City’s Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin’ complete the first record, before Tears introduces the second. Candi Staton’s Hallelujah Anyway appears in its Director’s Cut Signature Praise version, alongside Knuckles’ treatments of Electribe 101 and First Choice. The selection connects his own recordings with the vocal records he reshaped for clubs, placing extended mixes at the centre of the programme. Released in collaboration with the Frankie Knuckles Foundation.
