About this release
Mark Grusane presents Midwest Rhythms Vol. 3, a five-track selection from producers working across Chicago and Detroit. DJ Slush opens with the synth-led “Memory Blank”, followed by Deon Jamar’s bass-heavy “AYYYO”. On the reverse, Jordan Zawideh combines reverberant drum machines and synths on “Axolotls”, Grusane delivers the pounding, atonal “The Recoil”, and Thomas Xu closes with the arpeggiated movement of “School Street”. The compilation connects these different approaches through stripped-back house rhythms and off-centre arrangements. This Disctechno 12-inch brings the five cuts together, reflecting the range of the contemporary Midwest house scene.
