About this release
Taeko Ohnuki’s Mignonne brought her songwriting into a richly arranged setting of pop, soul and jazz in 1978. Her third solo album followed Sun Shower, with arrangements by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Juzo Seo and performances from Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki and Yukihiro Takahashi.
‘4:00 A.M.’ anchors a ten-track sequence that also includes ‘Yokogao’, ‘Totsuzen No Okurimono’ and ‘Umi To Shōnen’. Horns and strings add colour to the rhythm sections, framing Ohnuki’s understated vocals. This Great Tracks / Sony Japan reissue is presented on 180g vinyl with an OBI strip and inserts.
