About this release
Kevin McCormick and David Horridge’s Light Patterns follows a quieter path through Manchester’s early-eighties musical landscape. Home-recorded on cassette, the eleven pieces combine acoustic guitars, fretless bass and effects, with Rob Baxter adding Moog synthesizer to three tracks. The duo’s meditative arrangements sit between ambient music, jazz and psychedelic folk, favouring gentle movement and open space over a full-band sound. First released by Sheet in 1982, the album is reissued by Smiling C from the original tapes. This 2025 repress brings together Glass Dreams, Last Chances, Sandpatterns and the rest of the original sequence.
