About this release
Bill Withers’ You Got The Stuff takes his 1978 recording into extended dancefloor territory. The first section centres on his singing before the arrangement opens into a longer instrumental passage, with synths and a steady drum groove changing the track’s character. Look To Each Other For Love provides a gentler contrast on the B-side, matching the pairing on the original Columbia promotional twelve-inch. Above Board’s licensed reissue was made in conjunction with Sony Music Entertainment and remastered from Sony’s original sources by Optimum Mastering in Bristol. The record brings the vocal-led song and its extended rhythmic development together in their original single format.
