About this release
Comb Versions builds Stand around a bossa nova cover of a gospel song, expanding an initial edit into a reggae recording with musicians and vocalists. Henry Comb’s production brings together voices from Alicia Zapata, Makeda Rose and Bridget Ochocka, drums by Mikey Shaw, and guitar, violin and percussion from João Duarte. The full-length Stand is joined by instrumental and vocal dub treatments, while Firme Na Palavra presents the slower bossa nova setting that underpins the release. Across four versions, the record connects gospel, soul, reggae and dub without losing sight of the song. This 12-inch comes in a printed sleeve with an ITTY sticker.
