About this release
South Street brings Loose Ends' Hangin' On A String together with two Frankie Knuckles versions on a three-track twelve-inch. The Club Mix and Classic Club Reprise come from Knuckles' 1992 reworking, taking the original 1985 song into a house setting. Bass, percussion and the group's vocals anchor the Club Mix, while the reprise gives more space to the instrumental arrangement. The original twelve-inch mix completes the reverse, connecting the song's UK soul roots with the later Chicago interpretation. This reissue gives the full Club Mix the A-side, with the reprise and original sharing the B-side.
