About this release
Hull quintet Fat Generous team up with producer Wai Wan for a two-sided introduction to their jazz-influenced funk, soul and R&B. ‘Night Time Cool Breeze’ combines Ben Morrod’s bass, Matt Davis’s keyboards and Daniel Higgins’s guitar with vocoder-tinged vocals, drawing on the relaxed feel of Roy Ayers’ ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’. First released as the band’s debut single, it is paired here with ‘Shake Your Body Down’. Both tracks come from the group’s collaborative DIY recording project with Wai Wan, bringing their emphasis on playing and groove to a heavyweight seven-inch in a picture sleeve.
