About this release
The Star Of A Story and Ain't No Half Steppin' bring together two sides of Heatwave's sound. The first track, drawn from Central Heating, places Johnnie Wilder's falsetto within a gentle arrangement of strings, keyboards and acoustic guitar. On the reverse, Ain't No Half Steppin' shifts towards a more rhythmic funk approach, with bass, horns and group vocals at the centre. Rod Temperton's songwriting connects the pairing, while the arrangements move between a reflective ballad and a dancefloor-oriented groove. This remastered Epic 7-inch presents the full two-track programme, with The Star Of A Story on the A-side.
