About this release
The Time Is Right gathers eight Joy recordings from the albums I Feel The Spirit and The Time Is Right, made in 1978 and 1983. The San Diego gospel band drew its members from St. Stephen's Church of God in Christ and was led by producer and musician Matt Anderson. Their recordings combine gospel singing with soul and disco arrangements, including contributions from bassist Michael-Kae and multi-instrumentalist Clarence Bell. MTMU's compilation restores and remasters the music from the original tapes, presenting songs including No Need To Worry, I Feel The Spirit and the title track in a single vinyl programme.
