About this release
Lee McDonald's We've Only Just Begun reworks the song made famous by The Carpenters as a boogie and modern soul recording. Originally issued through New Jersey's Debbie Records in 1981, it found a British audience through DJ Gary Dennis. Selector Series pairs it with I'll Do Anything For You on this seven-inch release, drawing two songs from McDonald's recordings into a single format. The vocal and rhythmic approach places the familiar standard in a different setting from The Carpenters' version. The record features the original album's sleeve artwork and presents one song on each side.
