About this release
Life / Disco Party captures Bay Area group Liason at Freeway Studios in Oakland in 1977. Led by Morris Skid Clay, the band originally released the pairing on its own A.L.C. imprint. Life places a full vocal performance over a horn-led soul arrangement, while Disco Party gives the reverse a more direct dancefloor focus. Together the two tracks connect the group's soul and funk playing with the disco sound of the period. Fantasy Love's FL016 reissue returns the original two-song pairing to 7-inch vinyl, with Life on the A-side and Disco Party on the B-side.
