Patrice Rushen - Straight From The Heart

Straight From The Heart captures Patrice Rushen developing her use of synthesizers alongside her songwriting on the 1982 album. Disco, boogie and soul meet in arrangements that include Forget Me Nots, Number One and Remind Me, with Freddie Washington's bass playing central to the album's best-known single.

This Strut edition adds a second record of extended versions to the original nine-track programme. Forget Me Nots and Breakout! are joined by a remix of I Was Tired Of Being Alone and the instrumental Number One. The expanded sequence gives both the album arrangements and the longer club versions room across four sides.
