Rick Clarke - Guess Who

Originally issued anonymously as a white-label LP in 1992, Guess Who finds Rick Clarke moving between UK street soul, stripped-back house, garage and hip-hop. Recorded over a few days at his MJB Records studio in West Kensington, the sessions brought together friends and collaborators while Clarke was signed to Soul II Soul’s Funki Dreds label. Raw drum machines and direct basslines give the nine songs an unvarnished character. Jill Francis sings Gonna Make You Happy, Imaani appears on Share My Love With You, and Sweet Vibrations provides a brief closing statement. Freestyle presents the album as a full vinyl reissue.
