About this release
Love With A Stranger pairs Rick Clarke's vocal recording with Dub With A Stranger on a Local Records twelve-inch. Written and produced by John Collins, the 1985 song combines synthesizers, a prominent bass line and layered harmonies with the slower feel of UK street soul. The reverse shifts the focus towards the backing track and vocal harmonies, adding echo and a synthesizer solo in the dub arrangement. This reissue was remastered from the original tapes and brings the two versions together. The pairing connects the electronic production of 1980s boogie with a gentler, lovers rock-influenced groove.
