Smoke, Inc. - Waitin' For Love

Smoke, Inc.'s Waitin' For Love captures the Bay Area band's modern soul sound in a recording first released on their own imprint in 1977. A buoyant chorus and flute solo give the song its relaxed, melodic character, carried by a group active on the Greater San Francisco live circuit. Roy Schmall, Stan Terry, Michael 'Ollie' Schotka, Keith Stafford and Archie Williams Jr. formed the band. On the reverse, their version of It's The Same Old Song revisits the Holland–Dozier–Holland composition associated with the Four Tops. Mr Bongo reissues the pairing on 7-inch as part of its With Love collaboration with Miche.
