About this release
Steve Elliott's True Image is his 1981 debut, written, arranged and performed around drum machines and synthesizers with additional musicians contributing Rhodes, flute, guitar and vocals. Originally from Pasadena, Elliott moved to Denver and worked as a DJ on KDKO radio while developing his own recordings. The eight-track programme brings soul songwriting into an intimate electronic setting, opening with Skitz-O-Love and continuing through One More Time and Just Us Two. We Were Meant To Be, Believe In Me, Exist and Memory complete the second side. Rain & Shine's RSR004 reissue returns the complete album to vinyl.
