About this release
Hotter Than July is Stevie Wonder’s 1980 album, balancing energetic rhythms with more intimate songs across its ten-track programme. Did I Hear You Say You Love Me and All I Do open the record with a bright, direct feel, while Rocket Love and I Ain’t Gonna Stand For It change the mood. Master Blaster (Jammin’) brings a reggae pulse to the second side before the reflective Lately and closing Happy Birthday, Wonder’s tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. The album places those contrasting approaches within a cohesive vocal and instrumental sound. This reissue presents the full original sequence on 180g vinyl.
