About this release
The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band follows the percussion-led approach of Bongo Rock, bringing funk rhythms to a mixture of instrumentals and familiar songs. Originally released in 1974, the album includes Pipeline, Wipeout and (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction alongside Kiburi and Sharp Nine. The three-part Topsy sequence gives its drummers and percussionists further room, while Got The Sun In The Morning And The Daughter At Night adds another side of the group's arrangements. Formed by Michael Viner as a setting for a changing cast of musicians, the band left a catalogue that hip-hop and electronic producers later sampled. Mr Bongo's edition uses 180g vinyl.
