About this release
Selected by Waxist, Message In Our Music Volume II gathers eight recordings from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. The compilation follows the meeting points between modern soul, disco and boogie, opening with Sharnell Morton's synth-led gospel song You Are My Shining Star. Magic Of Love comes from a Broadway musical produced and composed by Ted Wortham, while Network & Co's Spirit Of The Boogie and Direct Connec Shun's He's No Good show different approaches to the dancefloor. The SOL Discos LP is remastered and includes interview-based liner notes and photographs, bringing the artists' stories alongside their music.
