About this release
Wally Badarou returns to selected pieces from Colors of Silence on Simple Things, adding his own voice and new overdubs to recordings developed in 2001. The songs turn familiar instrumental foundations into reflections on love, loss and everyday life, with English lyrics and melodies refined long after the original sessions. It Couldn’t Be You reworks The Lights of Kinshasa, while Painting My Life Blue grows from Days to Wonder. Badarou’s synth textures remain central, now framing his singing rather than carrying every melodic line alone. Simon Francis remasters the music, with Cicely Balston cutting this Be With Records release.
