About this release
MF DOOM's Metal Fingers project places his production at the centre of Special Herbs, gathering instrumental pieces alongside reworked beats made for his own records and other artists. Volumes 1 & 2 run from Saffron, Arrowroot and Za’atar through to Lovage, Eucalyptus and Myrrh, using soul, funk, R&B and other sampled material as the basis for compact compositions. The focus is on the loops, changes and textures that usually sit beneath the voice. This Rhymesayers edition presents seventeen tracks on mustard-yellow double vinyl, with a custom top-opening die-cut gatefold, printed record sleeves and a rolling-paper-style insert.
Format: 2 x mustard-yellow vinyl LP, die-cut gatefold
