Andrés Landero Y Su Conjunto / Afrosound - La Pava Congona / Soul Makossa

Discos Panorama returns to Colombia for PAN016, pairing Andrés Landero Y Su Conjunto’s “La Pava Congona” with Afrosound’s version of “Soul Makossa”. The 7" brings a cumbia classic into conversation with a Colombian interpretation of one of Afro-funk’s best-known compositions.

Landero’s side carries the weight of Colombia’s cumbia tradition, while Afrosound offer a contrasting approach on the reverse. The compact two-track selection makes space for both recordings to stand on their own, connecting distinctive Colombian voices through a single release. Issued by Panorama in a label-branded sleeve, it offers a direct route between cumbia and the country’s adventurous take on international dance music.
