About this release
Nicola Conte and Nico Lahs revisit Italian library music and soundtracks for Four Flies’ Reloved series, expanding the rhythmic possibilities of recordings from the early 1970s. Their versions retain the originals’ character while introducing a more contemporary club pulse. Piero Umiliani’s Nel Villaggio takes on a hypnotic house shape, followed by the ritual percussion of Gianfranco Reverberi’s Orgiastic Ritual, credited to South African Combo. On the reverse, Giuliano Sorgini’s Oasi Nella Giungla uses a more minimal electronic approach, while Romolo Grano and Gianni Oddi’s Kilimangiaro is reshaped through loops and sampling. The EP connects cinematic atmosphere with detailed, percussive dance music.
