Alcides Neves - Tempo De Fratura

Alcides Neves released Tempo De Fratura independently in 1979, after moving from northeastern Brazil to São Paulo. Its eleven songs draw experimental and folk ideas into a personal musical language, resisting easy placement within the city’s emerging scenes. The title translates as 'Time of Fracture', and the record’s context includes lyrics challenged by federal censors during the final years of Brazil’s dictatorship. Litoral and Discos Nada restore the album to vinyl with remastering by Paulo Torres. The gatefold edition updates the original artwork and includes an insert by journalist and researcher Bento Araujo, providing further context for this singular debut.
