Jon Hassell - Psychogeography [Zones Of Feeling]

Psychogeography revisits the sessions behind Jon Hassell's City: Works of Fiction through alternate takes, demos and studio improvisations. Hassell assembled the sequence in 2014, using situationist ideas to rethink the late-1980s recordings. Sample collage, funk rhythms and dub-like shifts of focus reflect his interest in both Public Enemy's production and Teo Macero's tape editing. Subtitled Zones of Feeling, the album contains eleven pieces, from Aerial View to Cloud-Shaped Time. This Ndeya gatefold double LP was cut by Stefan Betke and includes printed inners, extensive notes, archival photographs and a download card.
