About this release
Norsicaa, also known as Alice Whittington, selects ten tracks for Ayo Ke Disco, a Soundway collection exploring dance music from around the South China Sea between 1974 and 1988. The programme moves across Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, bringing disco, funk, synth-pop and regional rhythms together. Fatimah Razak, Black Brothers, The Rollies and Pongsri Woranuch are among the featured artists. Drawn from local labels, the selections capture connections between international dance sounds and established musical traditions. The single LP comes in a gatefold sleeve with artist photographs and liner notes.
