Kalita explores burger highlife on Borga Revolution!, tracing the meeting of Ghanaian melodies with synthesisers, disco and boogie during the 1980s and beyond. Recordings by Thomas Frempong and George Darko sit alongside less widely heard material from Aban and Uncle Joe’s Afri-Beat, with Wilson Boateng, Native Spirit, Paa Jude and K. Gyasi also represented. The eleven-track double LP includes an extended version of Darko’s 'Medo Menuanom' and K. Gyasi’s closing medley. Interview-based notes and archival photographs place the musicians within the scene, giving the compilation context as well as a selection of dancefloor-facing recordings.
