Hotel San Claudio unites Mark de Clive-Lowe, Melanie Charles and Shigeto for a collaborative exploration of spiritual jazz, hip-hop, broken beat and soulful house. Live instrumentation, deconstructed rhythms, flute, vocals and electronic production move between meditative passages and dancefloor energy. Pharoah Sanders provides a central reference point, with The Creator Has A Master Plan appearing in two parts and Love Is Everywhere receiving another interpretation. Strings draws on the trio’s shared love of hip-hop, while Kanazawa turns towards house. The result brings their different musical backgrounds into a single, closely connected session.
