79.5 - Club Level

Brooklyn band 79.5 introduce their self-titled album with 'Club Level', pairing the original with an Eli Escobar remix for Razor-N-Tape’s 45 series. The song’s soulful, psychedelic character comes through in its floating melody, steady rhythm section and baritone saxophone, with reverb lending the arrangement a hazy edge. Escobar takes the material towards an eighties-informed setting on the reverse. Together, the two versions show how the band’s songwriting translates between its own instrumental identity and a club producer’s approach. The release presents both on a compact 7-inch, with one version per side.
