About this release
Play.Make.Believe brings Ace Hashimoto's smooth R&B vocals together with jazz-leaning hip-hop production. The Chicago-born singer, songwriter and producer developed the album after a period in Tokyo, drawing on the music of his childhood and the songwriting work he had undertaken in Japan.
Recorded over three months after returning to the United States, the album includes contributions from pH-1, Taichi Mukai, Devin Morrison, Sir Michael Rocks and Kero One. Its thirteen tracks run from the opening ZOMBIE introduction to ENDING THEME, with O.M.W. and Great Indoors among the featured songs. Released through Nothing But Net, it places his singing at the centre of that varied production background.
