Altin Gun - On

Altın Gün connect Turkish folk songs with psychedelic rock and funk on On. The group began after bassist Jasper Verhulst became interested in the Turkish music of the 1970s, particularly artists who joined traditional material to amplified rock. With Merve Daşdemir and Erdinç Yıldız Ecevit contributing vocals, saz and keyboards, the band develops its own arrangements alongside songs associated with that earlier generation. Guitar, bass, drums and percussion give the music a danceable foundation. Released by Les Disques Bongo Joe, the ten-track LP includes 'Goca Dünya', 'Cemalim' and 'Şeker Oğlan', bringing those influences into a shared band sound.
