The Seed is Arp Frique's second album for Colorful World, drawing disco, synth boogie and funk into conversation with Caribbean and West and East African sounds. A stronger emphasis on synthesizers and drum machines gives the record a more electronic character while retaining the rhythmic focus of his earlier work.

Guests include Americo Brito, Mariseya, Orlando Julius and The Scorpios. Across twelve tracks, the album connects dancefloor production with personal themes of growth, parenthood, hope and uncertainty. Nyame Ye, La Musique Du Soleil and Paa sit within a programme that closes on the title track, presented here as a double LP.
