About this release
Ary Lobo 1958–1966 gathers fifteen recordings from the Brazilian singer’s RCA Victor years, tracing his approach to baião, côco and batuque. Born in Belém do Pará, Lobo brought northern and northeastern musical traditions into a career that carried him across Brazil’s radio studios and live stages. The selection moves from Movimento Da Cidade and Meus Guardados through songs such as Baião Macumba, Evolução and Garganta De Cera, placing his distinctive voice within a range of rhythmic settings. Analog Africa presents the compilation as part of its Limited Dance Edition series, with the recordings collected on a 180g vinyl LP in a gatefold cover.
