Autobahn - Ecstasy of Ruin

Ecstasy Of Ruin finds Leeds band Autobahn rebuilding their industrial post-punk around drum machines and sampled percussion. Their third album, self-produced across two home-built studios, draws the group towards Electronic Body Music while retaining Craig Johnson’s intense vocals and the tension of their earlier records. Analogue equipment, including pieces salvaged from Martin Hannett’s studio, forms part of the recording setup. From Post-History to Class War, the songs consider social conflict, technology and the possibility of hope within difficult conditions. The ten-track album marks a change in personnel and process for the four-piece.
