Sabrina Teitelbaum’s debut as Blondshell makes room for blunt detail and big feelings, using loud-quiet dynamics and strong hooks to examine trauma, confidence and self-possession. After leaving behind her earlier pop project Baum, she found a more direct way to put her own experiences into songs. Producer Yves Rothman encouraged her to develop that material into an album, and the result is this nine-track set for Partisan. Veronica Mars, Kiss City and Olympus introduce its personal outlook, with Salad and Sepsis completing the first side. Sober Together, Joiner, Tarmac and Dangerous make up the second.
