About this release
Bobby Aitken & The Carib Beats join Lloyd Robinson and Glen Brown for a rocksteady interpretation of Curtis Mayfield’s “Keep On Pushing”. The vocal pairing brings the song into the Jamaican sound of the late 1960s, backed by Aitken’s band. On the reverse, “Soul Special” gives the Carib Beats the spotlight with an instrumental arrangement featuring flute. The two sides offer a contrast between the vocal-led A-side and the lighter instrumental textures of the flip. This BA 7-inch reissue, issued through Digikiller, pairs the recordings under catalogue number DKR-293.
Format: 7-inch vinyl reissue
