Calm - Ambient Jazz

Calm brings live jazz playing and electronic production into close conversation on Ambient Jazz, released through Music Conception. The Japanese producer's programming leaves room for saxophone, piano, strings and bass, with the emphasis on tone and space. This six-track vinyl edition moves from the unfolding textures of Yorimichi to the gentle swing of After Dark and the flute and trumpet colours of Ephemeral Colored Moments.

On the second side, River Is Deep centres on piano and spacious reverb, while Midnight Blue pairs saxophone with warm synthesiser textures. Just A Love Song closes with violin-led orchestration. It's a natural meeting of ambient listening, jazz ensemble playing and Calm's Balearic sensibility.
