Charlie - Spacer Woman

Charlie's Spacer Woman captures the stranger, more electronic side of Italo disco. Originally released in 1983, its insistent synth bass, drum-machine pulse and distant, robotic vocal give the track a space-age atmosphere that still feels distinctive. Produced and arranged by Maurice Cavalieri, it connects disco's dancefloor drive with the colder textures of electro.

This Mr. Disc Organization 12-inch brings together the original vocal and instrumental versions. The A-side keeps the unusual vocal at the centre of the record's character, while the instrumental on the flip lets the synthesizer lines and rhythm take the lead. Both versions leave plenty of room for the groove to develop, making this a rewarding record for cosmic disco sets and a strong introduction to classic Italo.
