About this release
Chuck Strangers examines his relationship with hip-hop through the language of a troubled romance on ‘A Forsaken Lover’s Plea’. The seventeen-track Lex Records album pairs his candid writing with production from The Alchemist, Animoss, Graymatter, NV, Zoomo and Strangers himself. Remy Banks joins ‘Too Afraid To Dance’, Joey Bada$$ appears on ‘Polish Jazz’, Obii Say contributes to ‘Grasp’ and Erick the Architect guests on ‘Some Flatbush...’. Across the album, personal reflections on commitment, setbacks and artistic persistence sit within lush, sample-based arrangements. This edition is pressed on heavyweight bottle green vinyl, with a printed postcard and silver metallic overprinted sleeve.
