About this release
Dschung Tek gathers five recordings by German drummer Curt Cress, placing his percussion-led solo work alongside two versions of the title track. The first side pairs Dschung Tek's Long Version with No Live Drums, showing different approaches to its rhythmic arrangement. Sundance, Power Vein and Flying High complete the reverse, drawing on the sound of Cress' earlier solo album Avanti. His background as a session drummer and member of groups including Passport informs music where rhythm takes the lead. Music From Memory's 12-inch selection connects those instrumental recordings with his later move towards house-oriented production.
