David Sylvian & Stephan Mathieu - Wandermude

Wandermüde grew from Stephan Mathieu’s invitation to take a fresh approach to the recordings behind David Sylvian’s Blemish. Working with those session files and his own instruments, Mathieu processed the material in real time, selecting complete takes rather than building the pieces through overdubbing or rearrangement. Sylvian’s performances remain audible within slowly changing electronic spaces, giving the original album’s spare, emotionally exposed material another setting. Christian Fennesz contributes guitar to Deceleration, renewing a connection from Blemish. This clear-vinyl double-LP edition includes I Can’t Pretend To Care alongside the album’s seven other pieces.
