About this release
Escalade brings together Teddy Lasry’s interest in jazz fusion, electronic experimentation and music with a cinematic sense of space. Originally issued in 1976, the album places cosmic synthesizers against insistent rhythms and dreamlike textures, reflecting the former Magma musician’s exploratory approach. Eleven short pieces move from the title track and “Blue Theme” through “Après Rio” and “Passages”, with “Africa”, “Electro Rock” and “Piano A Pompes” among the reverse-side selections. Vinymatic Records’ reissue returns the album to vinyl in an edition of 200 copies, preserving its original eleven-track programme across a single LP.
