About this release
Sunset Sunrise brings DJ Motive’s sample-based blend of hip-hop, jazz and Balearic music to double vinyl, newly mastered by Justin Drake. The Gifu producer moves between loose drum patterns, dusty keyboards, strings and fragments of vocal, building a sequence that shifts from reflective ambience to more rhythm-led passages. “Sunrise” introduces Deadbundy and Chemical Codex, “Chill On A Lotus” blurs voices and strings into a hazy soundscape, and “Walker” turns towards synth bass and worn keyboard textures. Across seventeen tracks, the album connects beatmaking with jazz interludes and a relaxed melodic sensibility. Guest appearances also include Q-tik on “Jubilee”.
