About this release
Dramaboy's self-titled album layers ambient synthesizer pads and melodic basslines with boogie, city pop and leftfield electronic rhythms. Kristian Hamilton supplies the vocal on Stargazer, adding a sung counterpart to the surrounding instrumental arrangements. Before developing this solo project, the producer and multi-instrumentalist worked as a drummer with McBaise and the Dead Pirates, a background that sits alongside the record's analogue electronic approach. The ten-track vinyl sequence opens with Take Off and closes with instrumental versions of Stargazer and Close Encounter. Dirty Melody presents the DM001 LP in a Pantone silver sleeve with artwork by Gavin Dias.
