About this release
Ebo Taylor’s ‘My Love And Music’ brings together four recordings originally issued on Ghana’s Gapophone Records, the label run by George Prah. The album’s relaxed highlife arrangements carry noticeable reggae influences, with ‘Maye Omama’, the title song, ‘Odofo Nyi Akyiri Biara’ and ‘Will You Promise’ forming the complete programme. Mr Bongo’s vinyl reissue returns to this early part of Taylor’s catalogue, where Ghanaian highlife meets soul, funk and Afrobeat. The four songs are presented together on one LP.
